Has your battery lost it's charge? Try this....
Do you have a "dead" or discharged battery in your Porsche after winter storage? If your car is under factory warranty, you can call Porsche Roadside Response and someone will be dispatched to jump start your battery. But, don't stop here as once your car is started it's likely that it will not restart once your shut it off as your battery needs a "deep cycle" charge. In many instances, it's actually best to purchase a brand new battery at this time as sometimes it's difficult for the battery ever to accept a full charge again.
If your front hood won't open, you can easily perform the following procedure:
Go to the fuse box on the driver's side footwell. You will see a red tab that is marked with the symbol of the car's hood raised. Pull this out. This is your positive connection to the battery and a door hinge can be your negative connection. Attach one battery cable to each and the hood will pop open when you press the button.
Sometimes you can also plug a battery charger into the car's cigarette lighter but this may take a while to energize the battery. If the battery is dead, dead, dead, a trickle charger will take forever.
So you need to know where the fusebox is, you need to locate the red tab, you need another battery and you need jumper cables and you need to pay attention to colors on the cables.
Please remember that proper maintenance of the battery includes operating the vehicle on a regular basis to keep the battery charged and/or utilizing a Porsche Battery Charger/Maintainer. ALWAYS STORE YOUR CAR LOCKED WITH THE KEY OUTSIDE OF THE CAR.
